2020 Golf spied testing

Thanks to some new spy shots, we are getting the first look at a redesigned 2020 Golf test mule. It looks much lower and wider than the outgoing model but with all the camouflage its difficult to see what exactly has changed. Up front the headlights are now in line with the grille and are much more curved along the bottom edges.

More pictures have leaked out, which give us a first look at it without all the camo. Looks pretty close to production ready to me and I think the changes are subtle enough that they wont be a concern to current owners. Hope they've updated the technology accordingly.

They say white is a true test of a vehicles design and in this case that seems to be true.
Motor1 posted a rendering of this exact same test mule in white and my opinion is its the best looking 2020 Golf color so far!

see it here: https://www.motor1.com/news/313633/vw-golf-8-gti-2020/

I like everything except for those black eyelids above the headlights. Bodes well for the new R variant, which should get some nice sporty aesthetic tweaks.

I think the question now is how much more Audi-like can the Golf get. Compared to Golf generations years ago while Audi was producing hot vehicles, VW didn`t model after them nearly as much as today. Even current Golf`s can easily pass off as entry-level Audi`s.

The more you want it to be Audi-like the better off you are in buying an actual Audi. They are getting cheaper (ex. A3) and still very well configured.

You might be right when it comes to say a used base A3 Sedan.
If new vs new, the price difference of a base Golf to base A3 is drastically different, $10,000 divides them.
