Jeremy Clarkson selling his Golf GTI

A recently ad online has indicated that Jeremy Clarkson is selling his daily driver 2015 Golf GTI on Drive Tribe. Anyone who watches the Grant tour will know that he made a bunch of mistakes specing it and ticked a bunch of the wrong boxes. He wanted it red and three door but ended up ordering a Grey 5 door lol. Anyways its got 23,200 miles and he's asking £21,500. https://drivetribe.com/p/my-2015-gol...Qdi9TZpiD9-5kg

Not sure if I would have any interest in a car that Jeremy Clarkson has thrashed around, but I'll bet someone will be willing to pay a premium for it. A lot of people seem to be offering up trades for it.

Quite the modest car for someone like him to be driving around in considering all the cars he can afford. Being Clarkson I bet it will sell fast and for higher than market value.

Considering the super cars he gets to drive around, I doubt he's as abusive with his daily drivers. I think if anything its going to be the fact that its a 5 door automatic that might make it more difficult to sell.

Actually its quite the contrary. I know people with 911's that drive them within its constraints but the same can't be said for their DD's that have production numbers in the hundreds of thousands. Knowing parts and servicing is easy to come around where ever you go is an incentive.

There's really no way to know how the car has been driven but at least you know that Clarkson will have stayed on top of proper maintenance. You don't buy a GTI unless you're looking to drive a bit more aggressively.

I wonder what he's planning on replacing it with. His praise of the GTI is one of the main reasons why many fans became enamoured with it. I also feel like the price is a bit steep for a used Golf, no matter its condition though he could justify that by signing it lol.

I always thought he would prefer something more driver focused like a Alfa Romeo 4C or Porsche Boxster/718 Cayman.

I think there are a lot of VW owners who have become quite perplexed as a result of all these emission concerns. I would imagine you'd have a hard time buying back into the brand if you were one of the owners who had to give back an essentially brand new car.

resale values are also a major concern after all VW went through and how much brand perception has suffered. Right after the scandal some VW owners I know moved over to Honda.
