APR to showcase 536hp Golf R at SEMA

Tuning company APR has announced they will be bringing a very special variant of the Golf R to this years SEMA show. They are calling it the RLMS and they announced that this track ready model will have 536hp on tap. It's still using the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, but it it's been up-fitted with APR's 3+ turbocharger. It will also be wearing a widebody kit which you can sort of see in their teaser image.

Still wondering what we are going to get from factory with the next gen Golf R. I know there were some earlier reports that said 400hp, but I worry what may change as a result of emission standards. Looking forward to seeing the Golf R with a wider stance.

Apparently this time around we're getting a much more sophisticated suspension system, buttons for it are on the wheel of 8th Golf test mules, what are the odds APR took it a step above??

It's going to be slammed for sure and chances are that it'll also be variable. 400hp in the next gen Golf R seems a bit excessive to me, especially during a time when VW is trying to make their new models more affordable.

Here it is in the flesh. We've also got some new details in regards to specs and mods. Peak torque has been increased from 280 to 474lb-ft and turbo lag has been allegedly decreased. APR claims this Golf is capable of doing the 1/4 mile in just 10 seconds and accelerating to 140mph 15 seconds quicker than a Golf R.
